As you may have noticed, quite some changes have occurred lately on my site. The most important change is the move of the blog from the domain to the subdomain blog.vincentr.be. And instead there now is a good overview of my work on a portfolio. It also includes my latest tweets and blog posts to give a quick overview.
The portfolio is also the first website that goes live on my Nexis CMS ( Yes I renamed the cms from Nexus to Nexis ). On launch I experienced quite some problems. Most of them had to do with the include paths. Since I have set a BASE path constant which is used in each require or include function. This constant wasn’t correct anymore, because of the fact that I’m on shared hosting and my path isn’t C:\\ anymore. That gave me quite some trouble, but I had everything solved in 1 hour. I also noticed some problems where my localhost should have given an error, but it seems to have ignored it or found a way to solve it.
Anyhow, let me know what you think of the new layout

I hope you guys like the new layout ^^, looks clean and tidy. And it is compatible with IE7 as far as I know. If somebody has some problem with IE6 please let me know ASAP =D. Anyways i’m going to upload some pictures of Nexus CMS right now. So stay tuned for my next post .
I changed the layout back to the WP default because the previous one showed some compability problems with Internet Explorer. I normally fix those in my own layouts but I got that one from someone else. And since 39.2% of my visitors use IE6 this really was an issue hehe. Probaly most of those were just spiders though but yea i like this one too.
So this is it peeps, I got my first real blog online. I was first intending to design the layout and system myself. But I came to the conclusion i’m too lazy to do it after I made a couple of layouts. But why make something new when there already are fantastic systems on the market like WordPress. Don’t you just love its features, community, tons of plugins and themes and best of all its free! And damn the admin layout is really horny too lol. They really know how to use CSS & HTML to its fullest and how to master the PHP skills.
Enough said about WP, now what will you be expecting to see on this website the coming days? The answer to this question is… Website reviews, some coding tutorials, maybe even free web resources etc. Only thing I want to obtain is some crazy ass visitor results. I always love watching my graphics go up and down. Preferably the first thing. ^^. So stay tuned!
